The year of 2022 ends with some controversies and the year of 2023 starts with some controversies, here are few that caught our attention for our monthly Hype status for January 2023.

Kanye West disappeared (again) for better or worse, for whoever cares.Reasons are debatable but here are few: 1. Kanye West lost his billionaire status in October 2022 when Forbes revised his net worth and removed him from its billionaire's list. 2. In November 2022, Kanye West reached a divorce settlement with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and they share joint custody of their four children. 3. In October 2022, Kanye West posted a series of antisemitic messages on Instagram, leading to his suspension from the platform and the termination of his partnership with Adidas. 4. Kanye West was booed off stage during his "Donda" tour stop in Vancouver after he performed for less than 20 minutes and refused to come back out for an encore. 5. Kanye West's "Donda"&nbsp;tour stop in New York City was cancelled at the last minute due to "unforeseen circumstances," leaving fans disappointed and confused. 6. And Kanye&nbsp;West announces his intention to run for president in 2024.&nbsp;Importance of learning managing narcissism 101, but even his managers who help him manage all his stuff don’t know what’s up and where he is at. Raf Simons gives up the fashion business struggle.Belgian-born fashion designer Raf Simons has announced that his eponymous label, which he founded 27 years ago, will be closing down after the spring/summer 2023 collection, which will be presented in London in October. The reason for the closure is unclear, but some insiders speculate that it may be due to the tough financial market the fashion industry currently faces. Others believe that Simons may want to focus fully on his co-creative director role at Prada, alongside the company's owner, Miuccia Prada.Raf Simons challenged the system, and his undeniable mark on fashion is obvious.&nbsp;His idea to cast real people from the streets to walk in his shows was sensational at the time, and spoke to many fashionistas, and in a way contributed to ever-growing link between streets and high-fashion, eventually as a result, ending up in rappers’ lyrics praising Raf for his fashion, and their good looks.It was a good ride for Raf Simons and we do enjoy his current work with Prada and we are happy to see his vision flourish through Prada’s lens.&nbsp;

AI could create fully personalized designs for individual consumers and inclusive designs tailored to a wider variety of body types, styles, and preferences.While AI is only a tool, it has the potential to revolutionize the creative and fashion industries by helping designers to generate new ideas, optimize the design process, and create more personalized and inclusive designs. So the fashion weeks are here too in January. Menswear Autumn/Winter 2023 was awesome.All collections are great, and designers work hard, however there are always the favourites:&nbsp;The top 10 collections that received the most views are from Dries Van Noten, JW Anderson, Vtmnts, Rick Owens, Givenchy, Dior Men's, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Saint Laurent.View counts for menswear collections can be seen as a reliable metric in fashion’s volatile attention economy, and with focus on clothing rather than the “frow,” its figures are less likely to be skewed by celebrity attendanceSix of the collections are from Paris, three from Milan, and one is from a lookbook. Guram Gvasalia’s offshoot of Vetements, Vtmnts, is particularly interesting for making it to the top 10 despite being a no-show and having only a lookbook. Meanwhile, Givenchy, Dior Men's, and Louis Vuitton's collections were considered the highlights of the season by several buyers. However, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons both expressed their concern over being judged on numbers rather than design, despite Prada's continuing run as Milan’s most-viewed show. And finally, Saint Laurent menswear topped the list with its return to the Paris runways too.Great shows, handsome men, fantastically tailored suits.

Same goes for the Haute Couture Week of Spring/Summer 2023, Extravagant and Amazing.Haute Couture Fashion Week is an event that celebrates the highest form of dressmaking, and it is known for showcasing the most unique and unconventional designs. This year's event was no exception, as it was marked by a mix of beauty and controversy.The event kicked off in Paris on January 23, 2023, with Schiaparelli and Dior presenting their spring/summer 2023 collections on the first day. Iris van Herpen, Giambattista Valli, and other fashion houses also presented their creations, each showcasing their unique style and interpretation of couture.However, it was Schiaparelli that grabbed the most attention during the event, thanks to the designs worn by celebrities Doja Cat and Kylie Jenner. The duo arrived at the brand's spring/summer 2023 couture show wearing eye-catching ensembles, with Jenner's strapless black velvet gown featuring a faux lion head that went viral on social media.Schiaparelli's creative director, Daniel Roseberry, drew inspiration from Dante's Inferno for his collection, with foam animal heads on the dresses representing "lust, pride, and avarice." The attendees added glamour to the event, with Anya Taylor-Joy arriving in a lace corset with a matching jacket, and Elizabeth Debicki wearing a pleated skirt with a sheer blouse. K-pop group BLACKPINK member Jisoo, a Dior brand ambassador, won appreciation in her all-white ensemble, completed with a white and floral Dior top-handle bag.Chanel also presented its Spring-Summer 2023 Haute Couture collection at the Grand Palais Éphémère, showcasing the latest fashion trends. Talking about Fun Fun, and Polka Dots. Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton are having polka dots fun again all over the worldApart the obvious well-deserved retrospective in Hong Kong M+ Musueum, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, has partnered with Louis Vuitton yet once again for a huge collaboration and created &nbsp;a new augmented reality (AR) project that decorates global landmarks with Kusama’s iconic dots. The landmarks include the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, Tower Bridge, Arc de Triomphe, the Natural History Museum, and London’s National Gallery. The project is created using Snap’s Landmark lenses, which allow users to search for the brand’s page or lenses on the Snapchat app and view the landmarks with the dots overlaid on-screen. This is Louis Vuitton's second collaboration with Kusama, following their previous partnership in 2012.Geoffrey Perez, head of luxury at Snap, said the project "shows how the world is a canvas" and highlights the bridge between online and offline. The project is part of Louis Vuitton's embrace of AR technology, which allows brands to create interactive and engaging experiences for customers. Brands can use AR technology to create 3D objects, videos, and animations that customers can view on their smartphones or tablets.The partnership with Snapchat is an extension of Louis Vuitton's earlier experiments with the app, which included rendering Virgil Abloh's Keepall bag in AR. However, some other&nbsp;recent Collabs are leaving audiences confused, Tiffany &amp; Co and Nike Announce Air Force 1 Low Collaboration is such example.Nike and Tiffany &amp; Co have confirmed their collaboration on a new Air Force 1 Low sneaker, with a preview of the shoe box featuring a Tiffany blue paint job and an angelic Swoosh logo. The luxury jewelry brand has reportedly been waiting for a chance to work with Nike, following the success of the 2005 Diamond Supply Co. x Nike SB Dunk Low "Tiffany" release. The sneakers are expected to have a luxe gray suede upper and pebbled leather Swooshes in Tiffany blue, with premium branding from the jewelry company atop the heels. The collaboration is set to launch in Spring 2023 and retail for $400 USD.The fun part is that many enthusiasts tried to imagine the Nike x Tiffany collab via the prism of AI design, and the results came out to be much much much more inspiring than the actual officially released product itself.&nbsp;There are high hopes and expectations for everyone this year, and we are waiting to see the developments and more exciting collabs and cultural events to cover and summarise.
