We have a weird collab from Converse with legendary designer Rick Owens to start with. Global COVID-19 pandemic continues so Glastonbury Festival is officially cancelled for 2021, so is Venice Art Biennale shifted one year in advance for next summer 2022. Another weird collaboration from UNIQLO with some culinary delights of instant noodles by HEATTECH Dombei. Since we touched some fine and dine topic with noodles, the world of liquids is also shocked by Suntory Hakushu 12 Year Whiskey returning to the market after two years of absence due to being completely sold out. Artist Tom Sachs reimagines his “Ritual” everyday objects in Thaddaeus Ropac Paris gallery. In beautiful automotive universe unique Porsche fetches 750,000 USD bid, while Moto Guzzi celebrates its 100th-Anniversary with 1955 500cc Otto Cilindri reedition in limited numbers. And in case you missed it, Raf Simons’&nbsp;rocks the fashion world once again with his first menswear show for Prada with an online fashion defile presentation.Rick Owes vs. Converse, result Square-Toed TURBODRK Chuck 70Legendary designer Rick Owens states - “When I see something ubiquitous, I feel like I want to distort it.”A surprise collaboration with Converse released through Rick Owens DRKSHDW line, which is more of a denim casualwear line. This collab continues the relationship between two fashion powerhouses, as designer previously referenced the label’s footwear through his own releases of sneakers entitled Ramones High-Top.TURBODRK Chuck 70 by Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse has a square-toe construction giving a silhouette an avant-garde futuristic space look, with other details auch as an extended oversized tongue, and Rick Owens unique labelling appearing on the tongue. For now colourways are classic balck and plain white, however we would like to see it more colourful too, as Rick Owens personal aesthetic shifts towards experimenting with unique bright colours.Rick Owens said during the launch presentation of the collaboration - “When I see something ubiquitous, I feel like I want to distort it. I don’t know what that’s about. Maybe it’s some kind of adolescent rage. But that’s one of the greatest appeals of the Chuck Taylor All Star.”&nbsp;So we hope to see more sneakers over the course of 2021, from Rick, Converse and everyone else, even we here at OMNIFINERY inspired to sketch some of our own too. We are sure to cover more hyped footwear news in a future to come.COVID-19 Pandemic kills our 2021 summer yet again.We are still only in winter, but we already know it, it is inevitable and it is not going to happen yet again. Glastonbury Festival Cancelled for 2021 due to the virus and it is the second consecutive year that the festival will be postponed, same with almost every important festival in all industries, from art to music.Despite the start of the vaccine roll-out in the U.K. and Europe, and all the best effort to keep the festival alive, Glastonbury Festival organisers decided to announce over the twitter, that states “With great regret, we must announce that this year’s Glastonbury Festival will not take place, and that this will be another enforced fallow year for us.” The event will be axed for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Glastonbury is held in Worthy Farm, Somerset, the renowned festival attracts over 200,000 <a href="https://omnifinery.com/editorial/music">music lovers</a> every year and is crowned the “largest green-field music and performing arts festival in the world”. In 2019 alone, the music industry contributed a record £5.8billion (circa $8billion USD) to the U.K. economy. However, since the start of this horrific pandemic the music sector has lost circa 85-percent of its live revenue due to concert and festival cancellations. Same goes for all other cultural festivals, leisure and professional. Tourist industry will continue to struggle, same goes for the retail brick and mortar stores and galleries. Venice Art Biennale is also postponed for the summer 2022. And we continue missing Art Basel events to mingle and see some friends from around the world. Nonetheless we hope the world will open in 2021 already.Unexpectedly on a positive cute note, UNIQLO and NISSIN have come together for a collaborative range of instant noodle cups, especially formulated to warm us up.The team-up brings together the fashion purveyor UNIQLO and iconic culinary delight NISSIN’s HEATTECH and Donbei lines to “warm us up in winter in Japan” with two flavour variations. Each offering features elements of spicy ginger and shichimi pepper that warm the body up to create a form of internal HEATTECH. Plus the <a href="https://omnifinery.com/store/women/brands/kometaa">quality white T-shirts</a> that cover and warm the body and the mind.“HEATTECH Donbei Pork Dashi Ankake Soba” highlights an ankake thickened ginger soup stock packed full of intense pork flavour. While “HEATTECH Donbei Meita-style Ankake Udon” surprises tastebuds with the savoury flavour of mentaiko salted pollock roe carried in an ankake thickened ginger soup stock. HEATTECH Donbei Instant Noodle Cups will be available in supermarkets, grocery stores and other retail locations in Japan. Yet not known if such delights will be exported internationally but Japan as always is the first to start something cool.Continuing the culinary and Japanese thread we are glad to learn that Suntory Hakushu 12 Year Whiskey is returning to retail after being sold out for two years. The reserve single malt spirit regarded as one of Japan’s finest, and one of the most favourite amongst liquor collectors.&nbsp;Following a spike in popularity back in spring of 2018, stock of Suntory‘s Hakushu Reserve Single Malt 12 Year Whiskey was completely depleted in June of same year. Believed to be a limited supply, it is yet unclear exactly how many 700 mL bottles of the coveted spirit will be released, but now after two years of being sold out, the Japanese brewing and distilling name has announced that the beloved spirit will be returning earlier this spring.Suntory Hakushu 12 Year whiskey is distilled on Mount Kaikomagatake in the southern Japan alps. Hakushu Reserve Single Malt 12 Year Whiskey is lauded for its brilliant gold hue and bright scent of young leaves. While the spirit itself features hints of green apple and jasmine that carries a full and sweet flavour with a distinct smokey finish. The price is expected to be circa $82 USD, however we discourage irresponsible and/or underage drinking, and advise you to drink responsibly and legally, as this malt is in fact pretty strong.In the <a href="https://omnifinery.com/editorial/art">art world</a> Tom Sachs reimagines everyday objects in "Ritual" exhibition at Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Paris. Bricolage works of surveillance cameras, tide detergent and other usual Tom Sachs ideas are presented via new handmade sculptures of everyday objects in the artist’s signature aesthetic.“Influenced by the subcultures of an urban metropolis like New York, specifically the phenomenon of New York City’s corner stores, known as bodegas due to their roots in the city’s Latin American communities of the 1950s, the artist replicates commonplace industrial objects using everyday materials, including plywood, cardboard, resin, tape, and paint,” said the Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in a statement. “The sculptures bear traces of their making, becoming vehicles for a reflection on the creation of value and human labour.”Pieces bear Sachs’ sculptural signatures such as plywood, some visible nails, and glue-marks to boot. Sachs does his best not to fully transform a particular work, rather implements subtle touches while retaining its original silhouette and context. When it comes to creativity, the artist expressed many time - “When I say creativity is the enemy, I mean that creativity is like a chilli pepper: you only need a little bit; if you use too much, you ruin the sauce.”&nbsp;And also don’t forget to explore Tom Sachs official online furniture shop launched this past September.As of everyday objects the automotive industry had few exciting design happenings. A custom "Newcastle Commission" Porsche 911 by Singer is currently set to fetch $750,000 USD price tag. The vehicle was finished at the end of 2015, and it was bought by its current owner five years later. Singer began the project by stripping down the original car all the way to its bare chassis, fortifying its body, then, rebuilding it out of carbon-fibre. Furthermore, the car boasts sports suspension with Ohlins dampers and a steering rack in the style of a 993. The car’s exterior indulges in a rich cream arrangement, detailed with ghosted light blue stripes. Rounding up the vehicle’s design, the interior is lined with delicate blue suede finished with Singer’s signature “leatherweave” trims.&nbsp;Beautiful.&nbsp;As for the engine, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six, a slightly toned-down version of the six-cylinder, producing 390 HP, which lets the car go from zero to 100 mph in 8.2 seconds. Not too fast, but previously Singer customs already fetched high prices close to a million.In a meanwhile the 2 wheeled world celebrates Moto Guzzi 100th-Anniversary, where Moto Guzzi unveils a motorcycle collection of three bikes based on the 1955 500cc Otto Cilindri.The release of three limited-edition motorcycles in question are special edition models of the V7, V85 TT, and v9. Each bike takes inspiration from Moto Guzzi’s 1955 500cc Otto Cilindri. Cosmetically, each bike is treated to a centennial paint job of matte gray, dark brown, and matte green. Each model will be released in different months and the pricing will be set at $9,190 USD, $10,690 USD, and $13,190 USD, respectively.Talking about expensive stuff, Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2001 “Riot! In the past 25 years, the Belgian designer Raf Simons has become a globally-recognised name in the fashion industry whose work is worthy of a grail status. It’s needless to say the designer knows how to make clothes that carry their own legacy. Now, Simons has announced the return of some of the best bits from the past 25 years in Raf Simons Archive Redux, which looks back into the designer’s history book and aims to highlight core moments from the brand’s legacy, as curated by the designer himself. It is a retrospective, Archive Redux gives a new generation a chance to get their hands on reissued pieces from the Raf catalog, such as a hand-painted parka from FW04, the classic black blazer from SS99, jumbo sweaters of FW16, and pieces from the FW14 Sterling Ruby collaboration.Raf Simons comments about the reedition launch:“We’d been thinking about it for quite a long time, then we thought it would be interesting to do it when the brand had existed for 25 years. I had a lot of reactions from young people who wanted pieces, and who weren’t even born when we were making certain pieces!
